On the Summer Solstice and Litha....
I always look forward to the Summer Solstice, the longest day of the year, it makes sense for me to follow the "Wheel of the Year". Our family traditionally has a fire in our outdoor fire pit and leave milk, and honey, for the faerie folk. We set out intentions to have a bountiful crop from our home garden and a prosperous remainder of the year. (The new year being October 31st.)
For many, thousands, of years people from all over the world have been connected through the natural patterns of the sun and moon. A common ground for all races and religions to celebrate with each other without the barriers of "beliefs" blocking unity. The natural events of our planet should be shared with all people, animals, and beings. Hopefully one day we will all be able to come together and and celebrate the natural ebb and flow of the seasons in Love and Light. Brightest Blessings!

Making every bit count...
Often I find if I think about something from my heart, with our Mother Earth in mind, I can make the most of what I do. Recently, I am seeing a lot of great tips for healing the planet, I wanted to share a process of making every bit work for me.
Here is an example... I go to the grocery store to get potatoes. First, I consider the pros and cons of local, organic foods, all pros, except the cost...I decide it is worth the $.40-.60 cents, in my heart thought I know the benefits of spending more out-weigh the $avings. Next, I think about waste, "Will I use all of these before they go bad?" I buy an appropriate amount and plan ahead to make sure they don't go to waste. Then, I get them home along with carrots, celery, and fennel bulb. To wash them, I use a dishpan fill it half way with luke warm water, and wash the fennel bulb first, (least dirty) then celery, then carrots then potatoes, rinsing into the pan as I go, all in the same half gallon or so. I avoid buying things I don't really need to save our mother, so I have no veggie brush, (pre-cycle), I use the mesh bags the produce comes in, works super and I already have them, no need to $pend or demand unessential things. But wait there is more! The bags get worn out after a month or so, making them partially broken down, at that time I compost them in my outdoor composting bin. But what about that water? It is full of nutrients from the veggies I just washed, don't waste those gifts from our mother by dumping it down the drain, I water my house plants with it. When I peel the potatoes, which I do only occasionally, I vermi-compost most of them in my worm farm. Then, give some to our pet rodent, both of which, in return, gives me wonderful fertilizer. (Up-cycling). Shared in love and light!

Ch-ch-ch-changes…
Looking back on 2010, I see all the changes in each of my family member’s lives; we have grown so much as individuals and a family. Some things were hard, and we learned some big lessons, I know my husband and I are growing up… slowly, ;)… My kids have made leaps and bounds over the previous year.
As I look to the future, I see, that was only a warm up! There are some big “ones” on the horizon for us. My husband is on the verge of changing his career, in light of the economic situation construction is in. I am looking at starting one, as my kids have become less reliant on me for everyday needs. We have also found ourselves in a precarious situation, and may be looking to move in the spring.
Now, two years ago, with all of this change and growth, I would have been a stark raving crazy woman. I am so pleased with the stress management I have implemented in my life, along with a huge amount of support from my spouse, family, friends, and even neighbors. I have noticed changes are harder for some than others. One thing I have faith in is that there is a plan for me, and things can always get better; if things get worse, then, there must be a lesson in it for me. As I move from this stage of life, on to the next I will keep my positivism, faith, love, and light close by. I also hope to be as much of an “asset” to others as I am a “debt” to my loved ones. I hold such gratitude in my heart, for all of those who have been here for me, my family, and for LOVE.
Keep on climbing the mounds, hills, and mountains, with gusto, with faith… making them level out behind you, like fields of golden grain waving softly in the wind. Blessed Be, as we move forward together, through 2011, and beyond! Fear not of the future and what it has in store, embrace it with your whole self.
With Love and Light!

Martin Luther King was a prophet of his time.
I was starting my day off with Facebook as usual. Today, I planned on finding a quote from MLK to post as my status, I went to Brainyquotes.com and found a whole page of MLK quotes. I was reading them, down the page highlighting and copying the one I would post, I highlighted one, "A man who won't die for something, is not fit to live."~ MLK, I read down, I see another, copy it instead, read down further...another! and another! I had such trouble choosing just one! He had a message that we all can learn from, please take a moment today and discover what you can learn from a man who saw the world as a place of hope. He was a true prophet. It is too bad he was "taken care of", just like other "modern day prophets" who speak out against the main veiws of our government. "Important" are the ideals of these men, Abrahan Lincoln, JFK, MLK, they thought only of the good for man-kind, and look what man has done to them. Make sure to take time out and learn, there is much knowledge to be gained in the writings, speeches and lives of these men.
Happy Martin Luther King day! A REAL holiday indeed. Martin Luther King said what he meant, and lived by it, he died, and it was for SOMETHING!
Blessed Be everyone!

March For Babies! April 30, 2011
Spring is right around the corner, and every spring I do one thing that makes me feel very happy. It is the "March for Babies" walk. This will be the "Platte Valley Ladies" fourth annual march. Last year was tough with the economy and I am sure we will be faced with the same scenarios as then, this time around. I have faith that many will be willing to help and walk even though their life has been changed by the economic crisis we are all in. Love and light to everyone. Please take a moment to help babies, join our team or donate! Blessed Be!

To "try" or not to "try".....
If you think about it "trying" is really "not doing or still doing"; we can "try" all we want too, until we decide to actually do (or stop doing) it, not much will happen. So, for the New Year, ditch the word that may be keeping you from accomplishing your goals!
Here is my example, "This year I willtry to be a duck." Or "This year I will be a duck!" QUACK< QUACK!
Brightest Blessings! Happy New Year!

The New Year!
I guess the universe had a plan for me, my Blog has disappeared into oblivion, so I shall start fresh this year.
My biggest resolution this year is to BE a duck! I am focusing on letting it roll off and being one with water! Letting nature guide me. So if you hear me quacking you know I am looking for the duck in me! Blessings on this NEW year!
